SPRINGFIELD, MO
SCHWEITZER UNITED METHODIST CHURCH educational wing
Schweitzer United Methodist Church is an historic and emerging congregation. the campus is an eclectic mixture of buildings from a variety of time periods, though mainly of the same architectural style. The original chapel is a beautiful structure that is currently used for fellowship. The sanctuary is also beautiful, but is structured in a manner that it is not economically feasible to expand for additional seating. The existing layout was also exacerbated by educational facilities that were not secure and of inadequate size and number.

The revised scheme utilizes the on-site car sales building to relieve some short term congestion for the long range plan. In this plan, the administrative offices make way for expanded and secured educational and daycare spaces, grouped nursery areas, and multi-use rooms. The areas where additions are proposed maintain the architectural vocabulary of the main campus and compliment the surrounding urban fabric.
