HOLLISTER, MO

KEETER CENTER AT COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS

The Keeter Center is located at the College of the Ozarks main entrance to the faith based campus. This rustic lodge design was based on the historical Dobyns Hall which was destroyed by fire in 1907. The 40,000 SF multi-function facility includes historical lodging, barber shop, fitness room, copper cladded elevator, a 4,000 SF great room and 2,700 SF outdoor veranda offering skyline views of the surrounding Ozark Mountains.

Extensive coordination was required to ensure college needs were met throughout all of the facility amenities. This held true through construction, as well, since the project was constructed entirely by campus faculty and student labor. Student labor was utilized as part of the college strategy for work-based tuition. Due to the extended construction schedule, project wishes were continually revised; these resulted in the need to actively redesign the existing construction to ensure a successful project.
